Topo Toppers reveals a new flared pop-up truck camper at Overland Expo PNW 2024
Topo Toppers all-new full pop-up camper design features mildly flared, vertical walls that don't stick out too far but yield a spacious, comfortable interior and extra-wide bed platform. Like Topo's other camper options, the Rincon starts at a surprisingly accessible base price.

no perfect awning, if it's a full coverage than is paint to put away. I got a roofnest, I like but not perfect, no full coverage at 90 deg and its not a true 90 deg.

I think it is a pretty decent new camper. If you live on the east coast, you can cross ToPo off the list unless you are willing to drive across country. I get it, but it is too bad.

Ha...I used to claim that I slept well on a firm mattress... and that the 3" of foam that came with the Off Grid trailer I got rid of was enough lol.......now though, with my Kimbo and the full residential 8" box spring mattress combo it comes with I really know what sleeping well is like.

You might consider shopping for a cheap pair of shoes (preferably mostly canvas) for just this situation. Something quick drying and comfortable, a spare camp shoe for inclement weather. Then when you expect the going to get watery, you could just walk up the stream. Depending, of course, on how far you want to walk in wet shoes. Bringing only quality shoes may not be your best strategy, but you still need a decent platform for the rocks. As little marshland as you run into in the desert, they'd probably outlast your good boots. Trout fishing shops used to have excellent shoes for this, but they weren't cheap.

This looks to be a very nicely designed (the original truck mirrors work with the expanded camper shell) and beautifully constructed camper offering good accommodation for its size. I wish them every success with their lovely camper. Thank you for featuring this excellent camper.

Extra wide truck top campers, so hot right now! lol. It’s fun to see each manufacturer have a different take on the same idea. Looks like Topo Toppers picked a nice middle ground with some added width while not sticking out too far. These would be somewhat limiting in Oregon’s forest but great for families or extended trips.

I have the Mesa topper on my truck and like it very much. I drove to California from Colorado to pick it up last summer. Topo toppers offer the best bang for buck as far as topper campers go. I wish the 4 inch pad was available when I bought mine. I've added solar and insulation to the interior for the extra comfort. The only thing different I would ask for is a double or single sideways opening door like those seen on commercial work trucks. It would make such a difference.

Yeah. I did the little sleeping platform like you tried at first. I didn't bump my head, but it felt exposed, with that window on a level with my bed. I wish I had thought of something like Bill's tailgate raiser. When I had that platform setup, I closed the tailgate before I crawled in. If you've got shore power, a 1500 W space heater is probably more than you need, which makes it just right, because you can leave a window or windows cracked. Probably drive you out of there if you left it on high. I would probably want some kind of off-grid heating system: either liquid or solid fuel. I wonder if a stove-jack is something you could negotiate in a build of one of these. I like your setup with the butane stove. I would definitely use that for coffee, hot cereal, or warming up soup or leftovers. That's luxury camping, when you can build a coffee before setting foot, outside. But I think I'd do almost all my cooking, outside. I've been looking at these Topo Toppers, because they're about the most stripped-down, simplest, and lightest campers going. I would rather just have the shell and add features that I wanted, many of which I already own, just from years of truck camping. Campers/RVs with all the built-in stuff just seem like there are lots of things that can go wrong. Why buy into that, when I already have reliable gear? Keep livin' the dream, Bill!

Defiantly DO NOT DRILL - instead, consider using a marine grade bonding agent like - "3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 is a multi-purpose adhesive sealant made specifically for the marine market. This high-strength adhesive forms a weather-resistant seal. It's unique formula reacts with moisture and provides plenty of working time, taking up to 4 days to fully cure. Ideal for use above and below the waterline, it reliably bonds dissimilar materials including wood, fiberglass, gelcoat, plastics, and metals. Polyurethane sealants such as this form permanently flexible, elastomeric bonds that seal against the elements, maintain joint movement, and absorb stress caused by shock, vibration, swelling or shrinking. Such durability, versatility, and flexibility prepare 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 for tough applications like sealing portholes, deck/hull fittings, rub rail attachment, screw holes, and stanchion supports." Consider reaching out to 3M to confirm the best bonding agent, based on the readme, I think this might be the Willy Wonka golden ticket. You can find this on amazon.
